Welcome back for another Game of Thrones Season 8 end game theory video. Today I want to talk about the fate of Melisandre. In her last scene, she told Varys she was going to Volantis, but she never said why. Melisandre also said she would return, but why does she need to go there first? What answers are hiding in Volantis? We know Melisandre has always warned us about the coming of the Great Other, and now that day has finally come, so I believe she went to Volantis to find the secret to defeating the Night King. According to Melisandre, the prince who was promised, or Azor Ahai, would be the one to end the darkness, but is there something else she needs to do in order for this to happen? Will Melisandre have to perform one final sacrifice? Melisandre said something very ominous to Varys during their scene together. Does Melisandre already know she will have to be that great sacrifice? During Melisandre’s introduction, back in the second season, Stannis Baratheon pulled a burning sword out of the chest of the statue, and that sword was called “Lightbringer.” Will this ancient prophecy finally get fulfilled in the final season of Game of Thrones? Who is Azor Ahai? Is it Jon Snow? Daenerys Targaryen? What does Melisandre have planned for her own end game? Will Melisandre finally learn the truth about what’s in the flames? Will Melisandre and Bran Stark ever work together? Will Melisandre ever resurrect someone again? These are just some of the things I discuss in today’s video. Let me know what you think. Leave some comments down below. Thank you all for watching today’s video.
